LAHORE- Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muttahida Qaumi Movement today staged a walkout from the National Assembly in protest against alleged police high handedness as a result of which five workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek led by Dr Tahirul Qadri were killed. Speaking media outside the Parliament House, PTI leader Makhdom Javed Hashmi said that killing PAT workers is deplorable. “This against the norms of democracy and our religion as well,” he said. PTI chief Imran Khan in his message on twitter also condemned the incident, adding politicization of the Punjab police has led to the illegal action and killings of PAT followers.

Talking to journalists, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that Punjab police had injured the “heart” of Pakistan, adding that MQM will observe a day of mourning tomorrow across the country. MQM Chief Altaf Hussain also in a separate statement called police action as unjustified. He said that this action by police was taken to derail democracy and save Taliban.
