The contribution of women to the society's uplift is very important and they always played a vital role in many fields, a PML-N lawmaker said.

Member of National Assembly's Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Begum Parveen Masood said that the government had taken many steps for the women's welfare.

She was addressing as a chief guest a training workshop of female beauticians arranged by the Lahore Beauty College to promote the skills of female owners of beauty parlors of the area.

She said that the government had allocated 50% quota of Youth Business Loans for women to enable them to earn a living in a respectable way. She said that the beauty parlors were a good source to business and a good way to improve financial conditions and provide jobs to females.

She remarked that the government was fully alive to the women's problems and trying to provide maximum relief for them. College Director Rukhsana Rehmani on the occasion said that the basic object of the training workshop was to improve the skills of workers of the field and to inform them about the proper use of cosmetics and latest techniques. She said that beauty parlors were a good source of earning in a dignified way. A number of females and students attended the workshop.
