LAHORE - Bangladesh wants exchange of journalists and students at national level to strengthen the relations between both the countries, said Alamgir Mohiuddin here on Tuesday. Addressing the participants of a programme held in the honour of visiting 10-member delegation of Bangladesh media at Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), University of the Punjab on Tuesday, he said that his country was with Islamabad against war on terror and help it to end extremism from its roots. We want peaceful and prosperous Pakistan, he added. Dean Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, University of the Punjab, Dr Mugh-essud Din Sheikh, during his address, said that the varsity was working to create unity among all the provinces of country, as students from all the parts of Pakistan studying here. Later, they took round of PUFM-104.6, PUTV studios, Noam Chomsky Multimedia Lab, library and other sections. Director ICS also spoke on the occasion while all the faculty members were present. The delegation include: Alamgir Mohiuddin, Syed Kamalud Din, Abdul Latif, Shafqar Munir, Ghulam Morshed, NM Sajjad Hoque, Jolly Nur Haque, Shagufta Mahzabeen, Asma Akhtar Sethi and Qamaruz Zaman. 'N' praises consensus on NFC PML (N) Senator Pervaiz Rasheed has said that NFC Award would go to achieve national solidarity as well harmony on financial matters between the four provinces. Senator Rasheed stated here Tuesday that it is a historical and admitted fact that the unanimous approval of NFC Award could be made possible by the sacrifices of Punjab. He said the dream of development and progress of people of all four provinces will be materialized by the approval of the award and the democratic values will strengthen in Pakistan. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif showed great magnanimity for materializing this dream and President of Pakistan has also appreciated positive role of the CM Punjab in this behalf. Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said that 19 years ago, first time during the tenure of PML(N) Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, NFC Award was constituted through elected representatives. Had leadership of PML(N) ruling Punjab not played its positive and key role for unanimous approval of NFC award, the nation would have been deprived of this gift, he added. Rasheed further said that Punjab Government under the leadership of Quaid PML(N) Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif will be playing its due role for the promotion of national solidarity.
