QUETTA- A policeman was killed and another personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) wounded in two separate incidents of firing in Khuzdar and Quetta on Tuesday. As per reports reaching here, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate firing on a police official identified as Rasool Bakhsh in Zehri tehsil of Khuzdar district. He received serious injuries and died on the spot. The assailants fled the scene after committing the crime. Motive behind the killing is yet be known. However, some sources in the police said that it could be an incident of target killing. Police handed over the body to heirs after completing legal formalities. In another incident, personnel of FC sustained bullet injuries in an armed attack in Sariab area of Quetta. Unidentified assailants riding a motorbike sprayed volley of bullets targeting a vehicle of FC at Faizabad area that caused injuries to a soldier identified as Shohib Khan. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Soon after the incident, police and personnel of FC cordoned off the area and beefed up the security. No group has claimed the responsibility for the attacks so far. Police has registered case and started search for the arrest of accused persons. Ex-MNA Abdul Haq Baloch passes away Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch, former central Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and former Member of National Assembly passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. He was 63. Besides, serving as Naib Ameer of JI, he had also remained Amir of JI Balochistan five times from 1988 to 2003. He was first time elected as Member of National and Provincial Assembly in 1985 during non- party elections but had quit seat of Provincial Assembly. He was also author of a book. According to family sources, he was suffering from kidney disease and was admitted in hospital in Rawalpindi and was on dialysis. His body would be flown to Turbat from Islamabad where his funeral prayers would be offered on Wednesday (today). Man gunned down A person was gunned down in Usta Muhammad town of Balochistan apparently in the name of 'honour on Tuesday. According to reports reaching here, three unidentified people opened fire on Mumtaz Ali, resident of Goth Amanullah of Usta Muhammad. As a result, he sustained serious wounds and succumbed to his injuries. The accused escaped from the site after killing Amanullah. Police sources said that motive behind the killing could to be Siakari (honour killing). Police has arrested two accused persons in connection with the killing and started investigations.
