PESHAWAR (Agencies) - Tribal laskhar in Kurram Agency Tuesday evening gunned down 13 militants who had come to their area for abducting people for ransom. The armed members of tribal lashkar sprayed the vehicles of the militants with bullets to foil their attempt of kidnapping people for ransom from Barizone area of central Kurram. The dead militants belong to self-proclaimed head of the banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan Mulla Toofan group. The tribal lashkar encircled the Taliban vehicles from all the four sides and opened indiscriminate firing at them killing all the 13 militants on the spot who were traveling in two vehicles. Meanwhile, about 38 militants, wanted by administration in Bajaur Agency, have surrendered their arms and handed themselves over to the security agencies. According to Political Administration of Bajaur, the process of arms surrendering by militants is in progress and on Tuesday 38 extremists, including an important leader Khalifa, laid down their arms. The important local commander is at number seven in the list of most wanted persons in Bajaur Agency. The militants laid down their arms through involvement of a jirga comprising elders of Mohmond tribe in the agency. The surrendering militants made a pledge with political administration of spending a peaceful life in future and will become loyal to the country and government.
