ISLAMABAD (APP) - The National Accountability Court (NAB) has filed an appeal with Sindh High Court praying that acquittal order of Ex-Deputy Director FIA Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif may be set aside and the accused taken to task as the charges of accumulation of assets beyond his means impossible to disprove, the sources said here Tuesday. Sources have revealed that Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif, Ex-Deputy Director FIA embezzled hundred of thousands of rupees and accumulated very huge assets beyond his means. He was acquitted under section 265KCRPC by the Accountability Court Karachi in a NAB case. The NAB has filed an appeal in Sindh High Court praying that the acquittal order may be set aside and the accused taken to task as the charges of accumulation of assets beyond his means impossible to disprove, the sources maintained. The accused opened a member of bank accounts in the names of various benamidars and family members. He allegedly earned huge wealth through illegal and corrupt means. i.e beyond his legal, known and declared sources. Giving further details, the sources said that he has purchased the following properties in the name of his family members, relatives, different associates and benamidars as follows; a- Bungalow No.104, 2nd Commercial Street, phase-IV, DHA, measuring 600sq Yds current value Rs 10million. b- Open plot No 105, 2nd Commercial Street, phase-IV, DHA, Karachi. c- Bungalow No.64/1, Khayaban-e-Bahria, DHA, Karachi, measuring 500Sq Yds. The property was purchased at the cost of Rs 75,00,000. d- Building at 4-E, Badar Commercial Street No.8, Phase-V, Extension, DHA, Karachi, current market value is Rs 10 million. e - No 107/C, Khayaban-e-Shaheen, Phase-VIII DHA. f- S2/1, 31st Street, phase-V Extension, DHA Karachi. g - C/59-C, Al-Murtaza Commercial Lane, Phase-VIII, DHA Karachi. h - S-35, 12th Lane, Phase DHA Karachi, current value is Rs5 million.i- 16/C, Iqbal Commercial Lane No 4, Phase-VIII. j - 89/C, Tipu Sultan Lane No.2 Phase-VIII, DHA Karachi. k - Karmanwala House, Samundari current market value is Rs 5 million. l- Agriculture land measuring 119 kanal. m- 96% of the paid up shares of M/s Zarak Textile Mills (Pvt) Ltd Karachi. n - 100% shares of M/s Karman Pharma (Pvt) Ltd. B-44 and 45 behind KTC Bus Depot, Korangi SITE, Karachi. o - Shares in M/S Kehkashan Textile Mills Ltd, plot No 12, Sector 15, Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi and Kehjshan (Pbt) Ltd. In connection with materializing the above mentioned business, the sources said that accused Ch. M Sharif manipulated the rotation of his ill-gotten money through Hundi. \\/Hawala and managed to expose such money in term of foreign remittance in the name of his sons, sister, daughter-in-law, and benami Mst Bastiaan Martin Van, a Dutch National, whose financial worth is not in accordance with these remittances.
