Political manoeuvrings

We see every other day President Zardari running to Karachi to woo back MQM and save PPP's governments in Sindh and Centre. Similarly Mr Rehman Malik is running to Karachi and London to plead with Altaf Hussain imploring him to save PPP's government. Are these trips made in the interest of the common man or in the interest of PPP? Obviously these are done for the interest of PPP and thus should be paid by PPP and not by the tax-payer. It has been reported in the media that President Zardari has advised PPP assembly members to buy bullet-proof cars and has also said that 80% of them can personally afford to buy these cars. Does the declared income of these assembly members support this claim? DR ZAHEER ASGHAR KHAN, Lahore, March 14.
