The President of Pakistan has announced a special Presidential micro budget and tax increases to cover the deficit created by excessive government spending. The President has also announced a complete ban on purchase of new vehicles, hiring of new personnel and ban on new development projects in all government offices. Although the ban on new hiring and new cars is a good decision but the President of Pakistan should realize that the deficit is created because of the insanely crazy spending of Government offices. Just last week there was a report that the Ministry of Commerce has hired more than 900 consultants. If the President and the Government of Pakistan are seriously considering reducing the deficit, then they should concentrate on reducing the costs of all the government offices. In fact the President or PM should request all departments to submit cost saving measures which should be published in the media so the people of Pakistan can also see how each department is improving.
