Dar directs Swat kidney hospital completion

ISLAMABAD - Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has directed the quarters concerned to complete state-of-the-art Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital (NSKH) at Swat by end of May 2014.
Presiding over a meeting of Punjab Hospitals Trust held here on Sunday to review construction of NSKH at Swat, the finance minister directed for completion of the project by May-end. The hospital is being constructed through funds raised from philanthropists of the country. He also urged all the officials concerned to overcome hurdles and expedite the pace of work for execution of the project on time.
During the course of meeting, technical and finance committee of the project briefed the participants on progress of construction of the project. The meeting reviewed expenditure incurred on the hospital, procurement of equipment and appointment of staff, and expressed its satisfaction.
The meeting was also attended by Irfan Elahi, Chairman P&D Punjab, FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa, representatives of Punjab finance department, consultants, contractors as well as other senior officials of Punjab and KP governments and finance division.
In a press statement, the finance minister, who is also president of the trust, also said that state-of-the-art NSKH was a splendid gift for the people of Swat. Appreciating project stakeholders, he said NSKH Swat was a welfare project and the people donating generously to the hospital were doing a great public service.
