US hopes Pakistan Internal Security Policy will curb terrorism: Envoy

ISLAMABAD- Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Thomas Williams today, expressed the confidence that the recently presented National Internal Security Policy would be helpful in meeting the challenges faced by terrorism and militancy in Pakistan.

Thomas Williams said this during his meeting with Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Matters relating to bilateral relations with particular reference to security situation in the region came under discussion. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that Pakistan and U.S. enjoy good relations in all fields and the government desires to further strengthen them in the years to come.

He highlighted the need for greater transparency in bilateral relations between the two countries and said it would help further strengthening ties. The Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif the government of PML (N) is committed to following a non-partisan policy in regional matters especially in the wake of drawdown of international forces from Afghanistan.
