Rawalpindi - Police have rounded up 165 proclaimed offenders (POs) and 47 court absconders from different localities of the city during a special drive.

Similarly, police under the supervision of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi have devised a comprehensive security plan to maintain law and order on the occasion of March 23 parade, informed police spokesman on Monday.

According to him, police on instructions of CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi raided at several places and arrested 165 POs and 47 CAs. Off 165 POs, 20 were involved in heinous crimes such a murder, dacoity and kidnapping for ransom, he added.

Meanwhile, police announced special security plan in order to maintain law and order situation on March 23, the parade day. Sharing the plan, he said that whole city would be sealed besides placing special check posts at all the entry and exit points of the district.

Police along with other law enforcement agencies have also conducted search operations in different areas to purge the city from anti-social elements and suspects, he said.
