As many as 25 deserving couples tied the knot at a simple but impressive mass wedding ceremony held here at a local marriage hall Monday evening. The mass wedding ceremony was organised by Al-Khidmat Foundation Hafizabad chapter.
The brides were provided with dowry including jewellery set and household articles worth Rs100,000 and ‘salami’ of Rs5,000 to each of the couples. More 2,000 guests including family members of the brides and grooms attended the wedding lunch. The ceremony was attended among others by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq, ex-Mayor Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Nemat Ullah, JI Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Muhammad Waseem Akhtar, Al-Khidmat Punjab President Rao Muhammad Zafar, Dr Habibullah Cheema ex-chairman MC, Amanullah Chattha ex-District Ameer JI, Muhammad Imran Cheema District Ameer JI.
The nikkah was performed by JI Ameer Sirajul Haq and he prayed to Almighty Allah for the happy matrimonial life of the couples.
On the occasion, Sirajul Haq and others appreciated the noble gesture of Al-Khidmat Hafizabad chapter President, Muhammad Tariq Yaqoob and other office bearers and exhorted others well-to-do and philanthropists to follow suit to mitigate the sufferings of the poor and hapless parents.
