Arslan of Gujranwala finished first in the 60kg category judo league matches organised here by the Punjab Judo Association (PJA) under the banner of the Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF).
Leading players from various PJF units took part in the 60kg group matches and close contests were witnessed among the players who had been training for this event for the past one month. Ali Raza of Lahore secured the second position while Jahanzaib, Usman Khan and Asim Afzal - all from Lahore – bagged the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
MPA Majid Zahoor was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony at the prize distribution ceremony and gave away cash awards to the winners.
The PJF has introduced the league matches for the first time in Pakistan judo history and now have been arranging bouts in one weight category each month in which all players are invited to participate. There is no participation fee while handsome cash awards are being given out to the winners. The next weight category of 66kg will be held in next month.
