Islamabad - The officials at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Monday recovered the dead body of a newborn from the toilet of main emergency ward.

The identity of the mother is yet to be ascertained with the hospital management said that the premature baby was born on the same day and someone had just thrown it over there in the morning.

PIMS spokesperson Dr Aisha said that the baby did not take birth at the hospital premises as she did not bear any PIMS mark. “The children born at PIMS are tagged special marks and she had nothing of the kind,” Dr Aisha told media persons. The hospital management has kept the dead body at mortuary so as to conduct DNA which would help trace the mother of the child. Further investigation is under way. Meanwhile, an unknown boy aged 9-10 years was hit by a car bearing registration number DK-774 near Khana Pul on Expressway in the limits of Koral police station. The boy died on the spot while driver shafqat was arrested.
