DERA GHAZI KHAN -: A 22-year-old unmarried young man was shot dead in the name of so-called “Kala” (a type of honour killing) at Shahzad Colony in jurisdiction of Gaddai Police here on Monday.

According to the heirs of the deceased, 22-year-old unmarried Muhammad Naeem, son of Fida Hussain, caste Leghari, a resident of Pull Showriya, 5-km away from DG Khan City, was a labourer.

On Monday, some relatives informed Fida Hussain that his son had been murdered by unidentified killers early in the morning at the house his Kalsoom Bibi, wife of Muhammad Tahir Khan situated at Shahzad Colony.

When they reached there, they founded his dead body in a room while Kalsoom Bibi, Shahid alias Gogi and an unidentified woman were also present there. They informed that Naeem was shot in the head.

Meanwhile, talking to The Nation, Gaddai Police SHO Inspector Ali Muhammad said that information collected regarding the case pointed at an affair between the deceased and the married woman. He, however, declared that the police were investigating the case from all aspects. The dead body has been shifted to Teaching Hospital DG Khan for medico-legal examination and a formal case will be registered after medico-legal report.

Meanwhile, the bereaved family blamed that it was a murder in the name of honour as “Kala” by Muhammad Tahir (husband of Kalsoom Bibi) and his unidentified accomplices.
