RAHIM YAR KHAN
Former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasised that Rangers raid on Nine Zero was not an action against any specific political party because all political parties of Sindh including the MQM had committed support for the implement of National Action Plan in letter and spirit.
Addressing a press conference here at PPP Divisional Coordinator Javed Warriach here on Monday, Mr Gilani said that suicide attack on churches in Lahore was a national incident tragedy incident, adding that the government should give representation to minorities in the cabinet on the pattern of PPP to take foolproof security measures for their security.
Former Punjab governor and PPP Southern Punjab President Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood was also present on the occasion.
Gilani condemned the suicide blasts outside churches, saying that the whole nation including minorities was united to eliminate terrorism from the country. He declared that there was no chance of midterm elections as it was not a solution to the prevailing problems being faced by the country, adding that general elections should be held on time.
“Neither the PPP had supported any undemocratic action in the past nor it will support it in future,” the PPP stalwart claimed, adding that the PPP was in favour of party basis local bodies elections and would prefer its ideological and sincere workers in the award of tickets.
Gilani regretted that deserters of PPP who joined PTI could not benefit from Imran Khan.
To a question regarding kidnapping of his son, Mr Gilani said that he could not answer before media because it was a sensitive issue.
