City registers 43.5C temp

LAHORE - Lahore registered 43.5 degree temperature on Sunday, which is unusual in the month of May. As a result of rising temperature, the people confined to their houses. However, the youngsters converged on the Lahore canal to beat the heat with bathing and swimming. The highest temperature of 46.2C on Sunday was observed in Khanpur while the highest in Sindh i.e. 49.5 was recorded in Larkana. Meanwhile the cloud emerged on the sky in the evening as a result of westerly wave that was lying over Afghanistan till Saturday has entered into Pakistan. The Met office has predicted partly cloudy weather with chances of dust-winds late on Sunday evening and on Monday. Isolated dust storm, rain is also expected over Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Raalpindi, Gujranwala, Quetta, Zhob Division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. The Met office said due to westerly wave, light rain was recorded at Pattan, Kalam, Astore, Chitral, Gilgit, Skardu and Hunza on Sunday morning. Inauguration Senior Adviser to Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khose will inaugurate Daewoo Abdullah Motors on Monday (today) 12:00 Noon. Provincial Minister for Jails and Industry Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Umer Sohail, Zia Butt, Secretary Transport Punjab Zaigham Qadri and Ahsan Rashid will also be present at the occasion.
