RAWALPINDI - Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) on Sunday registered a strong protest outside Rawalpindi Islamabad Press Club (RPIC) against organising a competition of blasphemous caricatures on one of the most viewed websites namely FacebBook by an American cartoonist. The enraged IJT protestors were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and against American cartoonist. They also demanded of Pakistan government to take immediate steps to stop this alleged competition which had harmed the emotions of Muslim Ummah. Later, the infuriated IJT protestors took out a rally from RIPC to Committee Chowk which was addressed by IJT Nazim Rawalpindi Farukh Saeed. He, while speaking, said that to organise a competition of profane caricatures of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) on FB is tantamount to put the inter-faith religious harmony into danger as well as to damage the sentiments of Muslims across the world. As many as 12,000 non Muslim extremists had got them registered with FB so far to take part in this disgraceful competition, Farukh informed the gathering in addition with that the shameful fact of this competition is being arranged by an American cartoonist, the country which supported by Pakistan in war against terrorism as front line ally. He demanded of Pakistan government to ask US government to put a ban on this competition. IJT Nazim Farukh Saeed also warned the non-Muslims extremists to restrain from such dishonourable acts or else every youth of Muslim Ummah is ready to act like martyred Ghazi Ilam Din and Amir Shaheed Cheema, who sacrificed their lives while guarding Islamic interests.
