KABUL (AFP) - A NATO soldier fighting in Afghanistan to quell a Taliban-led insurgency was killed in clashes with insurgents in the south of the country Sunday, the military announced. The soldier was killed in an 'insurgent attack, NATOs International Security Assistance Force said in a statement without elaborating. Meanwhile, three soldiers fighting with the international force in Afghanistan were wounded after rebels attacked their patrol Saturday, the Polish defence ministry said. The attack, at around 6:00 pm local time (1330 GMT), happened near their base in the south of Ghazni province. Three patrol vehicles were also damaged in the attack. The three wounded soldiers were flown by helicopter to the main base for Polish troops, at Ghazni itself, but their lives were not in danger.
