New loadshedding schedule for Punjab

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) on Sunday announced a new schedule of loadshedding for the Punjab. As per the new schedule, five to six hours in urban areas while ten to twelve hours loadshedding in rural areas would be carried out, a private news channel reported. According to a PEPCO official, electricity shortfall between demand and supply has surged to 2000MW. The Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) has cut the gas supply to the power houses. Power generation shortfall of Bhaki Sheikhupura, rental power plant, Faisalabad and Kot Addu has reached to 400 MW. Guddu power plant has been shutdown due to technical problem in 500KV transmission line of Hubco Jamshoro.
