LAHORE - The passing-out parade of 10th batch of rescuers trained for Karachi was held at the Rescue 1122 Emergency Services Academy here on Sunday. This batch of rescuers have been trained for Aman Ambulance Service Karachi. Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer took oath from the passing out rescuers, which was followed by the Emergency rescue demonstrations of mass casualties in case of accident or explosion. The cadets have been trained to provide rescue, emergency medical treatment and transportation to the victims of emergencies. Quality training of newly-recruited staff was achieved through close monitoring and weekly tests. Other guests included Macartan Hughes Director National Ambulance Services College and Member of Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council Ireland, Shane Knox Chief Instructor NASC and Dr RK Shehzad General Secretary DRIP and Accident Emergency Physician Health Services. Rescuers have been trained in life saving skills like cardio pulmonary resuscitation, proper management of spinal injury patients. Dr Rizwan Naseer congratulated the Aman Foundation Karachi for establishing the first modern ambulance service in Sindh. He said Rescue 1122 has been providing technical assistance, training to all over Pakistan and in this regard the staff from Karachi, Khyber PK and AJK has already been trained so that the people of other provinces also have a sense of safety that in case of any accident, building collapse, explosion, fire and disaster there is a trained emergency service which shall timely come to their rescue. 13 cops punished SSP (Investigation) Zulfiqar Hameed has awarded punishments to 13 police officers and officials on the charges of faulty investigation, misuse of power and negligence which include reduction in rank, forfeiture in service, withholding of promotion, reduction in pay, withholding of increment and censure. The punishments were awarded to six Sub-Inspectors, seven Assistant Sub-Inspectors and one constable. According to an official comm-uniqu issued on Sunday, SSP Investigation awarded punishments of reduction in rank to SI Ijaz Ahmed from SI to ASI for three years, forfeiture of two years approved service to SI Muhammad Saleem, stoppage of one annual increment of SI Aftab Pervez and Muhammad Hussain, stoppage of two annual increments of ASI Sakhawat Ali, while awarded punishment of censure to SI Abdul Ghafoor, ASI Azad Khan, Muhammad Saleem and Muhammad Aslam and punishment of censure to Sub-Inspector Mehmood Ahmed, Ehsan Ullah, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sher Muhammad and Mubarik Ali.
