Punjab Labour Secretary Yousaf during his visit to the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the industry was critically faced with energy crisis and sorry state of affairs in the country. Addressing a meeting at GCCI office, he hoped that the new regime would bring a new horizon for the business community as well as the general public. The establishment of a dispensary will be ensured at Small Industrial Estate # 2 to facilitate the workers of that area. Also the formation of new labour colony for workers’ accommodation and 2 new workers welfare schools will be started soon, he added. “The issues causing delay in workers’ welfare grants would also be resolved on priority basis. Also a committee will be established with the consent of the Chamber and it will resolve social security issues with help of the department to facilitate the workers and business community as well,” he said. The meeting was presided over by Khawaja Amer Hassan, President of the GCCI. Earlier, the president presented the welcome address and highlighted the issues being faced by business community of Gujranwala regarding social security.
