Rawalpindi - Two bogies of a goods train derailed on the main rail track near Gangrila Railway Station, leading to suspension of movement of other trains on the route, sources informed The Nation yesterday.
Luckily, no casualty was reported in the accident. According to sources, two bogies of cargo train went out of track when the railwaymen were changing the track route of the train.
As a result, the railway traffic between Rawalpindi and other parts of country remained suspended for almost 8 hours, causing immense troubles for passengers. Taking action, the authorities dispatched rescue teams to Gangrila from Rawalpindi which cleared the track, sources said.
Master Mazar, the Station Master at Gangrila, misbehaved with media men when he was contacted for his official version on the incident. Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railways could not be contacted for his point of view.
