Boost in media-govt liaison pledged

AHMEDPUREAST: Liaison between the media and the government department will be enhanced in Bahawalpur, Bahawanagar and Rahim Yar Khan, said Director Public Relations Rana Ajaz Mehmood.
For the purpose, the officer added, he had issued directions to all three district heads of information department. He was talking to a delegation of National Press Union. Deputy Director Nasir Hameed and District Information Officers Nouman Masood Khan and Abid Rizvi were also present.
The director stated that he had chalked out a plan to issue official hand outs in English language along with Urdu languages on daily basis so Punjab government development programmes and its public welfare activities be projected in English media.
He further said that he would visit all the three district head quarters of Bahawalpur division and will meet the journalists so their genuine problems could be resolved at their doorsteps.
He also expressed his wish to meet the writers, poets and academics in the region.–Staff Reporter
He said that doors of his office are opened for journalists community and he shall facilitate them in dispensing of their duties. Responding to a query, he showed keen interest in the training of new comers in the profession of journalism and assured his full cooperation in this regard.
He underlined training for journalists, and said that the tool can be used in the networking and highlighting local and regional issues. National Press Union President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar apprised him of the problems of the journalists of Subdivision Ahmedpur East.
