Islamabad - The Supreme Court yesterday sought appointment record of sub-judicial and administrative staff of Islamabad High Court.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim after hearing all the parties reserved the judgement on the constitution petitions.

The bench directed the registrar IHC to submit the record of all the appointments of grade-16 and above made from 2010 till date. The court asked whether or not the advertisements for these posts were given in the newspapers.

Meanwhile, another bench referred the case of Capital Development Authority’s 34 employees, who had joined the civic body on deputation, to the bench headed by Justice Hani Muslim.

Justice Ejaz Afzal said it is better that the bench, which is already hearing the deputation cases of Sindh employees should also hear this case as well.

Naeem Bukhari representing the affected CDA employees said if the apex court passes judgement that these employees on deputation should be repatriated to the parent departments then many workers would come on roads, which will not be right in the eye of law. He said the CDA itself had obtained the services of these employees and they had been working for the last 20 years.

Justice Ejaz said if the employees are aggrieved then they should file review petition as they don’t have remedy in the constitutional petition.

The judge said the top court in its many judgments had declared that the same bench should hear the case, which had announced the judgement.
