BUREWALA-The police in a raid got released members of a tenant family imprisoned in a private jail by a landlord after torturing them for demanding salaries of three months.

However, the police did not register case against the landlord and have been reluctant to take action against him.

According to local media men, they received information that local landlord Athar Aziz Dogar, a resident of Chak 463/EB Farm No-3 Luddan Road has allegedly held his tenant’s family members hostage after they demanded salaries of the last three months. However, the landlord fled the scene when the media persons reached there.

Allah Ditta, a tenant informed the media that when they demanded salaries, the landlord started torturing and misbehaving with them.

“The landlord resorted to immoral activities and got implicated my son in a bogus theft case,” he charged, adding that Mr Dogar held him and other family members’ hostage. On information, the Fateh Shah Police also rushed to the spot and the SHO himself got the detainees released from the custody of the landlord.

The police officer, however, refused to comment on the incident and appeared reluctant to take any action against the landlord.
