LAHORE - Two persons including a young woman committed suicide in different parts of the provincial metropolis, police said yesterday.

A ward boy ended his life by jumping down from the third-floor of the Jinnah Hospital early yesterday. Police identified the victim as Shahbaz Ahmed, who was working as a ward boy in the government-run hospital. Rescue workers said the young man died on the spot. The body was moved to the morgue.

The motives behind the suicide were not clear yet. According to a family member of the deceased, Shahbaz had been suffering from financial constraints for the last couple of months. On the day of incident, he exchanged harsh words with hospital staff and then jumped from the third floor. The police are investigating the death.

In another incident, a 24-year-old woman took her own life by hanging herself with the ceiling fan at her house in Kahna police precincts. The victim was named by police as Sobia Bibi. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy. The police were investigating to ascertain the motives behind the suicide.

A police investigator said the body was hanging from the ceiling with a rope tied to her neck as they entered the bedroom. Further investigations were underway.

FOUND DEAD: Two men were discovered dead from different parts of the city. Police said that a 60-year-old man was found dead from Data Darbar police area while a 55-year-old man was recovered dead from Ichhra police vicinity.

Police investigators were yet to ascertain the identity of the dead. The bodies were moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, police investigators discovered the body of a married woman from the courtyard of her house in Harbanspura. Police are already investigating her husband in connection the cold blooded murder.

The victim was identified by police as 24-yerar-old Nosheen Bibi. The body was moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

Police sources said they believe the man strangled his wife to death and then dumped her dead body in the courtyard in an attempt to conceal his crime. A police officer claimed that the killer had confessed to the investigators that he himself killed his wife over some domestic dispute. Further investigations were underway.
