Quetta  - A colonel embraced martyrdom and another four soldiers sustained wounds in an operation against terrorists in Balochistan, an army press release said Wednesday.

The martyr was named as Colonel Sohail Abid of Military Intelligence. Two of the wounded are stated to be in critical condition.

On a tip-off, the security men raided a militant hideout in Killi Almas area of Balochistan, the ISPR said, adding that the terrorists unleashed a gun attack as soon as they got to know about the military movement. It said the raiding team retaliated against the onslaught, killing three key terrorists including LeJ Balochistan head Salman Badeni.

Reportedly Salman was involved in the killings of more than 100 people from Hazara community and police while the other two were suicide bombers. The action was part of Operation Raddul Fasaad.
