Here's hoping

The government has been criticized for not implementing the resolution passed during the in-camera briefing and for not resolving the water issue with India. In fact, the success of in-camera briefing lies in the fact that other countries have come to know about the strength of political parties in Pakistan. All the political parties arc firm about handling the critical situation of tribal areas of Pakistan peacefully. The Prime Minister and COAS General Pervaiz Ashfaq Kiyani has said that the army will remain in tribal areas until peace and stability is established in the whole region. During his visit to China, Indian PM Manmohan Singh assured our Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani that the problem of Chenab river water would be resolved according to the Indus Water Treaty. Let us hope that the government of Pakistan will solve all the political, economic and foreign policy issues while keeping in view the hopes and wishes of 160 million people of Pakistan. -MS SHEHNAZ JAVED, Karachi, October 30.
