LAHORE - Senior medics have urged the citizens to use balanced diet and avoid consuming excessive meat during Eid days to prevent diseases. They advised the people to avoid eating meat in excess of 100 grams, as too much consumption would not only disturbs digestion process but could also cause a number of other diseases instantly. They say excessive consumption of meat could develop stomach pain, diarrhoea and fever. They say the persons taking excessive protein could develop arthritis, high blood pressure, hear disease and cancer at a later stage. The meat is best source of protein but the people should take extra care during Eid days, they advised. They stressed upon the people to take balanced diet for the sake of good health. They also suggested use of vegetables and fruit as per the normal routine to keep their body fit. They say less spices should be used in cooking meat while cold drinks should be avoided.
