Economy being destroyed under a plan, says Shahbaz

LAHORE - Chief MinisterShahbaz Sharif has said that national economy is being destroyed under a premeditated plan and his heart bleeds at this situation. However Punjab government will play its due role for the solution of the problems of the traders and industrialists and maintaining industrial activities as promotion of investment and facilitating business community is its top priority, he added. He was addressing the industrialists and traders at Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh and Members National and Provincial Assembly were present on the occasion. President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muzammil Sultan presented address of welcome. The Chief Minister said that due to poor planning of the federal government serious issues like load-shedding of power and sui-gas are causing the decline of national economy and industrial sector is being destroyed under conspiracy due to which economic activities have slowed down and unemployment has increased. Appreciating the role of traders and industrialists of Faisalabad in the national economy the Chief Minister said that their generous contribution to the construction and development of the city, its beautification and setting up of welfare institutions is proof of their being God fearing and patriotic. The Chief Minister said that he is fully aware of the problems regarding lack of security to industrialists and the joint meeting of representatives of industrialists and local police officers will be convened for formulating recommendations which will be implemented in letter and spirit for improving the situation. Referring to certain demands of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that Punjab government has no objection to the setting up of the high court. He said that 150 CNG buss will be provided within a few months for launching urban transport project in Faisalabad on the pattern of Lahore. Announcing construction of football and kabaddi stadium in FDA City, he directed District Coordination Officer to evolve practicable project of parking plan. He also announced representation to three members of Chamber of Commerce in Board of Governors of Bank of Punjab. Soon after his arrival in the city, the Chief Minister inaugurated Layalpur Park and Fish Farm set up over eight acre land behind Agriculture University and also participated in Eid Milan function of special children of different institutions. He described the park as a beautiful recreational project and said that it is a gift for the people after its recovery from addicts and criminal elements. He also appreciated the courage and determination of special children. He announced a grant of 20 lakh rupees for welfare oriented projects of special children. Children also presented tableau and skits which was highly appreciated by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister inaugurated the park and also saw its various portions. He directed DCO to resolve the issue of the gate for the adjacent Christian locality.
