LAHORE FIA Director General has directed all zonal directors to expedite the arrest campaign against proclaimed offenders and court absconders and submit report to headquarter on weekly basis, sources in FIA said on Wednesday. This time FIA DG has announced Rs 25,000 as reward for the investigation officer who would arrest any PO or CA, said a senior officer of the agency. The campaign has been started on Wednesday and would prolong till November 30. Sources claimed that there were more than 1,300 POs and CAs at present and most of them were CAs. They said arrest of CAs was not responsibility of FIA, because they did not join court after getting bail once from the court. It is worth mentioning that former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf was also declared as PO from court in Benazir Bhuttos assassination case. FIA would also proceed through Interpol for the arrest of Musharraf. The campaign has been started across the country and most of the POs are involved in human smuggling cases, an officer of the FIA said that since human smuggling was on rise across the world and so was the case with Pakistan. Sources said that DG FIA expressed his displeasure on the performance of all zonal directors regarding arrest of POs and CAs. He said that all the most wanted and POs of Red Book should be arrested immediately. An officer of FIA when contacted said more than 300 POs were arrested during last ten months and most of them were involved in human smuggling. Sources claimed that several POs were sitting abroad after minting money from the innocent people and their red warrants have also been issued by the FIA. A renowned human trafficker Mazhar Iqbal was brought back Pakistan through Interpol who was involved in more than 20 cases of human smuggling. Among other renowned POs included, Qasim Ali Dada, Javed Ali Syed, Mohsin Habib Waraich and Rana Muhammad Ali. All these people were involved in NICL case.
