ISLAMABAD - Baffled with the onslaught of criticism coming from every hook and corner of both elected and non-elected politicians, the coalition government led by Premier Gilani was desperately struggling to restore the dwindling credibility of the government on one hand and to keep the fragile coalition intact on the other. It was in this backdrop that secretaries committee constituted sometime back by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to come up with the suggestions and proposals for the restructuring of the Pakistan International Airlines, was shook out of deep slumber and it would be meeting here on Thursday (today) to start with the task assigned to it. Secretary Cabinet Nargis Sethi, Secretary Defence, Secretary Finance and PSPM would be attending the meeting with the task to come up with proposals and suggestions for restructuring of PIA in shortest possible time. Similarly, Prime Minister Gilani was on the tenterhooks to come up with result-oriented meetings in a next few days to deal with the failures and follies of other state entities like Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Steel Mills and a number of other corporations running in huge losses. On the other hand, Prime Minister Gilani was also struggling to sweep the dust of political and administrative failures by his own cabinet members and some of the party's stalwarts due to which a large number of party parliamentarians, both at federal and provincial level, become dormant finding the government's policies in conflict with their political interests.
