OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Punjab government has wasted billions of rupees on Lahore Transport Company, while the people still wait for public transport for long hours on the City bus stops, claims Raja Basharat, advisor to PM for industries. Basharat on Wednesday maintained that the new bus service of the provincial government would prove another failed project like Sasti Roti, Food Stamp, Ashiana, Daanish School and Yellow Cab schemes. The provincial govt has used millions of rupees of public fund on the publicity campaign to run the new buses on four routes in the City, while the Punjab govt has no viable transport policy at their disposal, Raja Basharat alleged. He added that transport owners were getting fares of their choice on different routes from the passengers and the poor commuters still not getting the quality and on-time transport services. Basharat, who is also a senior PML-Q leader, maintained that Pervaiz Elahi govt had established such a transport system under which the commuters got quality service.
