PM appointed Shakeel as Haj DG: Kazmi

ISLAMABAD - Former religious affairs minister Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi has claimed that FIA senior officer Hussain Asghar revealed in the Supreme Court with proof that ex-Haj DG Rao Shakeel had sent a vehicle worth Rs9.9 million for Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilanis son. Talking to the media at the Press Gallery in the Parliament Wednesday, he said PM Gilani appointed Shakeel as Haj DG. The former minister said that those who a pointed finger at him had contradicted the blames. He said that if there was over Rs700,000 in his bank account as alleged, where was that amount now. Kazmi said: I could have been cleared of the case if my arrest had been made on the direction of (Punjab Law Minister) Rana Sanaullah. He admitted his 'mistake of hiding his foreign accounts, saying that an amount of 20,000 pounds was deposited in his foreign account which was sent by his younger brother and the account was operated from 2002-2009.
