When the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani had lost majority in the National Assembly he had immediately offered the olive branch to Mian Nawaz Sharif who gladly accepted it. I then wrote in the print media that this rather unnatural development was a sheer marriage of convenience based on opportunism and will, thus, collapse like the proverbial nine pins once the PPP regains its political strength and finds more compliant allies. Today, as I recall those events when the Prime Minister was in a quandary and pondering over the present political scenario, I find the PPP and the PML(N) once again at loggerheads which proves beyond doubt that my prediction made many months ago has finally come true.
