At least 16 persons including two women and two minors were killed and eight others injured in different incidents of violence and road mishaps over the past 48 hours.

According to details, in Sheikhupura, a 22-year-old man died while his aunt sustained serious injuries in a road accident here near Shaqpur on Saturday.

As per reports, Nishan Ali and his aunt Eshrat Bibi were on the way to a nearby village on a motorcycle when a speeding tractor-trolley hit the bike. As a result Nishan died on the spot while the woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to nearby hospital. The police have started investigation.

In another incident, the bodies of two addicts were recovered by the Factory Area Police from two different localities in Kot Pindi Das and Vandala Dayal Shah on Saturday. The police suspected that both the addict had

Similarly in Rahim Yar Khan, six persons including two brothers and two minors were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between two bikes occurred here on Ahmedpur Lamma Road the other day.

According to police, the accident took place at Sui Gas Chowk when a motorcycle (RNM-92), carrying four persons including children collided with another motorcycle (RNO-2972), also carrying five persons including children. Resultantly two brothers identified as Wasim Usman, his brother Naveed Usman, Siddiq Ahmed, two minor boys and an unidentified youth died on the spot while three others including two minor girls and a woman sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to THQ Hospital Sadiqabad from where the woman and a girl were referred to Sheikh Zayed Hospital RY Khan due to their critical condition.

In Faisalabad, a woman was killed while her husband received multiple injuries in a road accident here in the remit of Dijkot Police.

According to police, Iqbal and his wife Irshad Bibi, residents of Chak 273/RB were going somewhere on a motorcycle when a speeding tractor-trolley hit the two-wheeler. Resultantly Irshad Bibi died on the spot while her husband received injuries and he was rushed to hospital.

In another incident a youth committed suicide in the Jaranwala Saddar Police precincts the other day. The police said that 28-year-old Zahid Bashir, a resident of Chak 61/GB was scolded by his parents over a domestic issue. At which he got disappointed shot himself in the head. He was rushed to THQ Hospital where he breathed his last.

Meanwhile, a youth shot at and killed his brother over a property dispute in the limits of Bahlak Police. According to police, Anwar Shah, a resident of Pindi Sheikh Musa had a dispute with his brother Sarwar Shah over a piece of land.

Due to which Sarwar shot at and injured Anwar who was shifted to hospital but he could not survive. The police have arrested the accused and registered a case against him.

In Khanewal, two people were killed while another sustained serious injuries in an accident near here on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122, three motorcyclists identified as Mehr Ali, Allah Ditta and Yaseen, residents of 178-10R were on the way to home on a motorcycle when a speeding trailer hit them near 168/10-R Chowk.

Resultantly, Mehr and Allah Ditta died on the spot while Yaseen received injuries. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the disfigured dead body of an unidentified girl was recovered from a salinity drain here.

According to details a local namely Abbas spotted the dead body of about 20-year-old girl lying in a salinity drain near a farmhouse called as Qaim ka Dera of Nain Ranjha village in the limits of Gojra Police. Abbas reported about the dead body to the police. Police took the body in its possession and shifted to DHQ Hospital for autopsy. The police sources told that the dead body was spoiled beyond recognition and it was impossible to establishment its identity. Real cause of death would be known after the post-mortem of the dead body, they added.

Meanwhile, a sixty-year-old man namely Malik Iqbal, a resident of Mohallah Islami, suffered heart attack when he was participating in a mourning procession in Malikwal. Medical team accompanying the procession administered him medical aid but he did not recover and died on the spot. The dead body was handed over to the family.

While two students of Government College of Engineering and Technology Rasul injured when an unknown car hit them.

According to details, students Ali Awais and Adeel Shehzad were going to Rasul Lokri Bazaar for food. En-route some unknown car hit them both and sped away. Condition of one student Ali Awais is dangerous who has been referred to Lahore where as the other student Adeel has been discharged from DHQ Hospital after treatment.
