In Lahore, the central Shabih-e-Zuljanah procession was taken out from Nisar Haveli. The district administration managed security by closing both sides of the procession route and allowing only mourners to enter.
The procession passed through its route including Mohallah Chehel Bibian Imambargah Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Lakkar Mandi, Imambargah Mehdi Shah, Mobarak Haveli, Chowk Nawab Sahab, Kuch Qazi Khan, Imambargah Molvi Feroze Ali, Kucha Miskinan, Mohallah Pir Gilanian, Imambargah Rajab Ali Shah, Chohata Mufti Baqar, Chowk Purani Kotwali, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Masjid, Dabbi Bazaar, Suha Bazaar, Gumti Bazaar, Said Mitha Bazaar, Tehsil Bazaar, Bazaar Hakiman, Unchi Masjid and Bhaati chowk. The police deployed more than 17,000 personnel to guard the procession. The participants of main procession offered prayer at Rang Mahal.
Beside the central procession of Nisar Haveli, 32 other processions of Zuljanah, Alam and Tazia were also taken out from across the city. More than 100 majalis-e-aza were also held in the city wherein zakireen and ulema highlighted the importance of great sacrifices.
The central Zuljanah procession, which emerged from Nisar Haveli on Thursday night, passed through its traditional route and culminated at Karbala Gamay Shah near Data Darbar on Friday night after marching about 22 hours.
Several committees of devotees and social welfare organisations had set up sabeels (free drinking stuff) and distributed Langar-e-Hussaini and Niaz (free food) among the people.  Majalis-e-Shaam-e-Ghariban were held after Maghrib prayer in different Imambargahs including Karbala Gamay Shah, Idara Minhajul Hussain, Imam Bargah Qasr-e-Zainab and others.
The City Police had sealed each nook and corner leading towards Karbla Gamay Shah. Similar security plan was implemented elsewhere. A good number of police contingents were escorting the main Zuljinah procession whereas the CCTV cameras were installed at various points alongside the procession routes including metal detectors and walk through gates.
All the processions dispersed peacefully in the provincial capital at Friday night. While dispersing the main procession, Agha Shah Hussain Qizalbash led the prayer. The participants prayed for peace and prosperity of the country.
