Cop killed in Kulachi roadside blast

TANK - A police constable was killed and six others injured when a roadside bomb exploded on Dera Kulachi Road, local police and hospital sources said on Saturday. According to sources, a police truck was on its way to DI Khan from Kulachi when an improvised explosive device went off on Muddi road some four kilometers from Kulachi tehsil. The blast left a policeman killed on the spot and six other constables injured. The police personnel were returning to headquarters after performing Muhar duties.
Sources said that constable Abid sustained critical injuries and died on the spot. The injured persons included Muhammad Amer, resident of Nowshera, Muhammad Khadim, resident of Nowshera, Mudasser Ali of Bannu, Attaullah, Danish and Haroon Niazi of Peshawar districts. The dead and injured personnel were shifted o DHQ Hospital D.I.Khan. Soon after the incident, police cordoned off the area and started search against miscreants.
COP AMONG TWO INJURED IN PESHAWAR BLAST: At least two persons, including a policeman, sustained injuries in a remote-controlled bomb blast near a police mobile van in Badhber area. According to local police, on Saturday morning a police mobile van of the Bhana Mari Police Station was badly damaged when a roadside bomb went off with a big bang at the Skeme Chowk area, the limit of Badhber Police Station, Peshawar. It was learnt that the police van (A-8783) was stopped for filling fuel near a petrol pump, when the improvised explosive device exploded.
Resultantly, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Azizur Rahman of Bhana Mari Police Station and a passer-by Iktiar Gul son of Sher Haider, student of Government College Peshawar, got injuries.
The rescue teams, local police and personnel of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached the spot soon after the incident and the injured were shifted to Leady Reading Hospital for medical aid.
The local police cordon off the area and started search against miscreants. Local police registered a case of subversive act against unknown persons and arrested 12 suspects and shifted them to undisclosed place for investigation. The BDS officials said that 5 to 6 kg explosive was used in the explosion.
