12 passengers died after Jaffar Express got derailed at Aab-gam, Quetta, Waqt News reported. “Eight bogies were derailed,” media sources stated.

The train was going from Quetta to Rawalpindi. According to the media reports almost 100 passengers have got injured in the accident. “Injured have been transferred to the Quetta government hospital and Bolan Medical Complex,” the rescue authorities told the media.

According to media reports the Federal Railway Minister Saad Rafique has taken the notice of the accident."He has sent a helicopter to the site for rescuing the injured," sources stated. "The Minister has also contacted with Governmental and Military authorities in Balochistan," sources added.

The Inter Services for Public Relations (ISPR) has stated that military forces are taking part in the rescue operation. "Military ambulances and two MI-17 helicopters are taking part in the military operation." ISPR added

"Frontier Core (FC) quick response force has also reached at the train accident site," sources revealed. FC head Brigadier Tahir has stated that we have completed our relief work due to quick rescue operation of FC personals. "We have completed our relief work," he added.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken the notice of the accident. "He has asked to take every possible measures to help the affected." government sources told media. "He has also advised to investigate the actual reasons of accident," sources added
