Islamabad - Zohaib Tariq, student of HITEC University, managed to capture a place by getting into the top fifty of World Photography Organisation (WPO) competition in which photographers from some 171 countries participated.

“My work was selected from among 6,675 images from over 171 countries in Youth under-19 Cultural category,” Zohaib informed The Nation adding that his photographs were shown globally on the World Photography Organisation (WPO) website and digitally at Somerset House London which is a rare distinction for him.

He said that his work titled ‘Colours of South Asia’ comprised the cultural life in Pakistan and he tried to depict the diversity and richness of our cultural heritage through the lens of his camera.

He further informed that the photography competition ‘Sony World Photography Awards’ invited him to London to participate in the event the WPO had arranged in honour of the winners of this coveted competition but he could not attend it due to his tight studies schedule.

He informed that photography is his passion and he would continue capturing the colours of life across Pakistan and tell the world the real and beautiful face of the country to the people around the globe.

Zohaib Tariq said that he was encouraged by his selection by the WPO and would take part in other international competition in coming days.
