Pakistan, Jordan discuss emerging regional scenario

ISLAMABAD: Nawaf Khalifeh Ibrahim Saraireh, Ambassador of Jordan to Pakistan called on Secretary Defence Lt. Gen (Retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak in Islamabad Tuesday.

Secretary Defence Lt. Gen (Retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak welcomed the dignitary and expressed warm wishes for the Kingdom and the everlasting bilateral relationship enjoyed by both countries.

Pakistan and Jordan reinforced their strong and historic relations, underscoring the need for maintaining and promoting closer relations particularly in the field of defence. During the meeting, Jordanian Ambassador mentioned the efforts of Jordanian Government in tackling the emerging situation in the region.

Both Secretary Defence and Ambassador of Jordan discussed the emerging global scenario and its settlement according to the wishes of people of those states. Jordan shared the problem of refugee crisis and inquired how Pakistan has been able to meet the crisis over the years?

Secretary Defence Lt. Gen (Retd) Alam Khattak praised the efforts of the Armed Forces, Civil Government and more over People of Pakistan who stood resilient in the wake of any crisis that the country had to face. He added that “Pakistan always believed in the policy of non-interference and had taken measures to bring peace and stability to the region”.

Both Pakistan and Jordan expressed satisfaction over ongoing defence deals and other collaborative projects between both countries.

Secretary Defence Lt. Gen (Retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak appreciated the vision and foresight of visiting dignitary with the hope that future of bilateral relations will further prosper.
