‘PPP to make a clean sweep in LB polls’

SADIQABAD

The Pakistan People's Party will make a clean sweep in the upcoming local bodies elections in district Rahim Yar Khan under the leadership Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood.
PPP District President Javed Akbar Dhiloon claimed while talking to the media during his visit to Sadiqabad here the other day. He informed that in 12 wards of the district, the PPP is supporting candidates of like-minded parties including independent. "The party, however, has fielded candidates in 115 wards of district Rahim Yar Khan," he revealed, adding that PPP candidates in four union councils have also been elected unopposed.
PPP Sadiqabad city president Arshad Javed and general secretary Habibur Rehman were also present on the occasion. Mr Dhiloom said that the Pakistan People's Party, under the leadership of its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is united and prepared to accomplish the mission of its slain leaders Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Moreover, he said that no power can stop the PPP journey for a democratic and prosperous Pakistan.
CANDIDATE WITHDRAWS: Independent candidate Mian Abdul Qadir from Ward 24 stepped down in favour of his opponent Mian Muhammad Aslam. He took the decision to honour the efforts and services of Mian Aslam for the people of Gulam Rasool Colony.
Addressing a gathering Mian Aslam said that all the people of the areas are his strength and vowed to work together in future for the progress and prosperity of the area. He said that with the grace of Allah Almighty, the day of December 5, would emerge as the victory day for him. He also promised to work together to root out corruption and poverty from the area.
