Zahid Hamid inducted as climate change minister

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned counsels for the parties concerned for arguments in foreign assets case against 64 prominent Pakistanis and politicians including Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Imran Khan and Pervez Elahi.

Justice Khalid Mehmood of LHC took up the case for hearing today.

The petitioner Javed Iqbal Jaffri took the plea in his petition that Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Pervez Elahi, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Imran Khan, Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq, Ishaq Dar, Javed Hashmi, Farooq Sattar, Najam Sethi, Mian Mansha, Asma Jahangir Khawaja Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Tanvir and Sheikh Rashid transferred 400 billon dollars to their off shore accounts illegally and caused unprecedented loss to the national exchequer.

He said that sons of Nawaz Sharif purchased 149 properties in UK and all the politicians made respondents in his petition built assets in foreign countries.

He prayed the court that the condition of the country can be changed and real revolution can be brought about by bringing back to Pakistan all the money stashed by these politicians in off shore accounts.

The court while summoning the counsels of parties concerned for arguments adjourned the hearing of the case till November, 27.
