Islamabad-The acting Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has deployed extra force on Murree Road in order to regulate traffic without any halt, a spokesman said yesterday. Similarly, the wardens have been given two extra lifters to lift the illegally parked vehicles on the roads.
The extra force comprised of two DSPs, two inspectors and 21 traffic wardens, who would control traffic rush on city’s main artery, he added. According to him, acting CTO Shahid Yousaf, while taking notice of massive traffic jams during peak hours on Murree Road has deployed extra force to cope with traffic mess. He said the city has been facing traffic jams after the authorities of twin cities have diverted traffic on substitute routes because of ongoing work on road carpeting projects in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Acting CTO Shahid Yusaf warned the road users to obey traffic rules and not to park vehicles in no-parking areas or else strict action would be taken against the violators.
