DERA GHAZI KHAN-After completion of inquiry, the Punjab Ombudsman has directed the Education Department to remove the Mepco employee and consider complainant M Nasir for his appointment as Senior Elementary School Educator in a schools here.
The employee of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) DG Khan had fraudulently hijacked the right of appointment of a candidate as Senior Elementary School Educator (SESE) Math at Government Elementary School Basti Fouja, Kot Chutta.
Punjab Ombudsman Najam Saeed directed the Education Department that allegations had been proved in the inquiry against Mepco employee Faiz Muhammad for his misconduct. In case of removal of Faiz Muhammad from service, the agency should consider the complainant namely Muhammad Nasir for appointment as SESE (Math) subject to relevant rules.
Nasir, a resident of Chah Ser Wala, Kot Chutta Dera Ghazi Khan, had lodged a complaint in the court that he applied for the post of SESE (Math) in 2015. He was placed at Sr No. 52 of the merit list. Successful candidates up to Sr No 51 were selected for the posts and last selected candidate of Sr No 51 was Faiz Muhammad who was appointed as SESE (Math) at Government Elementary School.
Nasir found out with proof that Faiz was also an employee of MEPCO. Simultaneously, Faiz was illegally receiving salaries for both the posts, which is a criminal act. During the inquiry it was proved that Faiz was an employee of MEPCO at the time of appointment as SESE (Math) in Education Department on August 12, 2015.
Firstly, he was appointed as Assistant Lineman (ALM BSP-03) on contract basis vide order No. 7532-36/CE/MEPCO/IC dated July 05-2013. Secondly, he was regularised vide office order No. 71-T/22210-34 dated May 05, 2016 issued by the office of Superintending Engineer MEPCO Circle DG Khan. He drew salary from Mepco, but after pointed out all facts by complainant/affected candidate, Faiz submitted resigned application to Wapda on May 09, 2016 and returned salaries Rs141,950 to Wapda through UBL Jampur Road Branch DG Khan.
When contacted, Deputy District Education Officer (EE-M) Kot Chutta Saleem Shahid said that he has declared Faiz guilty and recommended for disciplinary action. To a question, Shahid replied that the accused has been terminated in regular inquiry while complainant Nasir has not yet been appointed.
