Pakistan, AJK take stock of LoC situation

| All sacrifices aim at Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan, says Farooq Haider | Barjees expresses solidarity with Indian firing victims, martyrs’ families

MIRPUR (AJK)-The governments of Pakistan and AJK took stock of the situation caused by the frequent unprovoked Indian firing in AJK, and decided to compensate the families of martyrs and other affectees of the Indian aggression.
The high level meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit/Baltistan Barjees Tahir in AJK’s capital city of Muzaffarabad late Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by Joint Secretary Ministry of Kashmir Afairs and GB, Chief Secretary AJK Sikandar Sultan Raja and Aditional Chief Secretary Dr Saeed Asif Hussain Shah.
Secretary Disaster Management Authority Zaheeruddin Qureshi briefed the meeting about the situation of Line of Control, rehabilitation of affected people and completion of development projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting decided that all possible steps would be taken to compansate the financial losses of the people in AJK.
The meeting further said that development projects would be initiated in AJK and all funds would be provided timely to ensure early completion of projects.
Farooq Haider said, “Pakistan is our hope and advocate in the world. The aim of our sacrifices and struggle is Pakistan. Indian firing on LoC can’t discourage our determination. The people of AJK will play front role in defence, stability and prosperity of the country.”
He said that Kashmiries were fighting the Indian forces atrocities with bravery and firm resolve and there was no instance of their bravery in the world. He said that Indian forces have been mentally defeated in front of the determination of Kashmir people.
Speaking on the occasion, Barjees Tahir said that he came especially for expressing solidarity with the affectees. He said, “In all circumstances, we stand with our people across LoC. Provision of funds will be ensured and all the remaining compansation would be paid. Raja Farooq Haider Khan is our Prime Minister and we all support him. Funds of Kashmir will be spent within Kashmir.”
He said that required funds would be provided timely. He said that the people of Kashmir were determined and there was no fear of Indian aggression. He paid rich tributes to the martyrs and wounded people at LOC and expressed solidarity on the behalf of whole nation. He said that in this difficult time Pakistan government and people stood with them.
On the other side, District Bar Association Mirpur President Zulfiqar Ahmed Raja said Jammu & Kashmir State is an inalienable entity and no power on earth could resort to any harm to it through its division in any form.
Addressing a meeting of the DBA, he declared that durable, just and practicable solution to the lingering issue of Kashmir lies only in the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The people of Jammu & Kashmir are not bound to accept Tashquent and Shimla Accords or Lahore or Agra agreements since they (Kashmiris) were not party to these agreements”, the DBA President categorically said.
Zulfiqar Raja called for early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue through tripartite talks among Pakistan, India and the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He underlined that Jammu & Kashmir state comprising five units of AJK, GB, occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions, is the alienable entity and no power on earth could resort to any harm to this historical entity.
Raja Zulfiqar Advocate said that people of Jammu & Kashmir from both sides of the LoC should be included in the composite dialogue between India and Pakistan whenever the talks are resumed, to ensure the early resolution of the decades old Kashmir dispute in line with the aspirations of the people of the state.
Raja Zulfiqar said that international community including America and western world were also showing keen interest for the early peaceful solution to Kashmir issue.
He reminded to the UN to fulfill its commitment for holding plebiscite in Jammu & Kashmir under the spirit of its historic resolutions for the early settlement of the Kashmir problem. He declared that Jammu & Kashmir is the centuries old single entity and every global attempt to divide the internationally-acknowledged disputed state on ethnic or otherwise ground will be strongly resisted and frustrated.
He expressed grave concern over the ongoing escalation on the line of control following the ongoing frequent unprovoked incidents of Indian firing from across the LoC and Working Boundary. He observed that it seemed yet another attempt was being maneuvered to sabotage the Kashmiris earnest wishes for the peaceful settlement of Kashmir conflict.
He maintained Kashmiris were becoming the victim of the ongoing escalation of unrest following the traditional aggressive posture of the troops from across the LoC. He pointed out that the unprovoked firing by the Indian troops have forced hundreds of inmates to shift to the safer places.
The DBA reiterated that the people would continue their freedom struggle with full vigor till the achievement of the goal.
