VEHARI-The district police arrested 518 outlaws wanted in cases heinous crime like robbery and drug-peddling during a crackdown in the month of October.

According to DPO Omer Saeed, the police launched a vigorous crackdown on proclaimed offenders, drug-dealers and other outlaws wanted in different heinous crimes. During the operation, the police arrested 518 outlaws including 112 drug-dealers and members of different gangs. The police also recovered illegal arms - three Kalashnikovs, 10 guns, two rifles, 34 pistols, four revolvers and large number of bullets - and drugs - 738g of heroine, 12.3 kg of hashish and 2,892 bottles of wine from their possession.

On the occasion, the DPO said that maintaining peace and protection of life, property and honour of the common man is the prime responsibility of the police, pledging the district police will go to any extent for this noble cause.
