The government has decided to send cases of financial misuse by the previous Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Addressing a press conference, Advisor to Prime Minister Shehzad Akbar and Special Assistant to PM Iftikhar Durrani shared details of the alleged misuse of government resources by Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, brother and daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, respectively.

Akbar said Shehbaz, who was the former chief minister Punjab, and Maryam Nawaz, a senior PML-N leader, used government planes for travelling.

Probe will also be carried out in the use of Rs600 million Shehbaz spent on air travel and Rs340 million spent illegally in total on air travel by the government, he added.

Moreover, Rs275 million were spent on Nawaz’s Jati Umra residence out of national exchequer, he said.
