Punjab govt to set up industrial estates in every district: Aslam Iqbal

Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce at the committee room of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that the provincial government has planned to set up industrial estates in every district of the province.

This was stated by him while talking to a delegation led by Haji Tahir Naveed, Central President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Traders Wing which called on him on Wednesday.

During the meeting, problems faced by industrialists and traders and issues of power looms of Kasur were discussed. The delegation demanded the establishment of an Industrial Estate, Technical College for Labour Training and Technical Lab in Kasur. The minister assured that genuine issues of the industrialists will be resolved on a priority basis.

Talking to the delegation, Mian Aslam Iqbal said that a comprehensive plan for establishing a tannery zone is also being evolved. Government land will be prioritized for the establishment of an industrial zone in Kasur, he added. 

He said that it is the responsibility of the government to solve the problems of industrialists and traders and provide facilities to them. He said that industrialization play a key role in enhancing economic growth and job opportunities. The process of industrialization is accelerated due to the policies of the government, he concluded.

The delegation included the President of Kasur Power Looms Association Arshad Gujjar, Secretary Haji Ansar, Syed Adnan Jamil, Muhammad Siddique and others.
